New Writing Book to Check Out!

I have been spending some time reading portions of the following book on-line that addresses formative assessment in the writing workshop-
What Student Writing Teaches Us

Here is the link to the Stenhouse Publishers blog tour...

You can also click on the resources link, "Creative Literacy Blog" to read more from the author. I am curious to hear your thoughts...

Of Primary Importance: Chapters 6-8

As you read last week and this week's reading of chapters 6-8 in "Of Primary Importance," what ideas, thoughts, or reflections in the text caused you to stop and think? What ideas did you note or mark to be sure to come back to once the school year begins? What things are you eager to incorporate into your own classroom?

One to One: Chapters 3-11

This is the second time in the past week that I have tried to post this- so I am hoping it will work this time. I know there has been a great amount of material read and a great number of ideas shared throughout the reading- but I am hoping you have noted somethings to discuss with colleagues. What ideas stood out to you that you would like to share with your colleagues? What ideas would you like to try to implement in your teaching of writing this year?

Assessing Writers: Chapters 3-7

I have been having trouble posting to the blog as blogspot has been changing things over. I know you have now read alot of material- but I would love for you to share what ideas have stood out to you that you would like to discuss with your colleagues and what ideas would you like to include in your work with writing this year?

How's It Going: Chapter 2-4

After reading chapters 2-4 in "How's It Going?" what ideas would you like to share with your colleagues? What ideas would you like to try in your classroom?

Also- for those of you who were not with us at the writing graduate course, this book provided the foundation for a great amount of our work around conferring. It is an excellent resource.

Delay in New Postings

I have to sincerely apologize for the delay in postings! I had the opportunity to attend a conference with Fountas and Pinnell last week but while away I struggled with my internet access and my ability to post to the blog. I will combine the readings into the posts for each book- thanks for your patience! I hope you are enjoying your reading.
